This show reel features more recent work, including excerpts of animation I created for a music video and a laser tag briefing. This show reel demonstrates generalist knowledge, but please have a look in my portfolio for further examples of work specific to different aspects of 3D production.

About
03 November 2010
Androgyny 2050 is the online portfolio of the 3D artist Jason Kennedy.
UPDATE: new self-portrait render uploaded to the portfolio section.
I am proud to call Auckland, New Zealand home. I have six years experience as a 3D modeller and animator, and I am well-versed in all aspects of the 3D digital pipeline. I am also a lecturer in 3D Animation in the Digital Design programme at Auckland University of Technology.
My passion comes with working in the 3D industry, and I hope this website will help to convince you of my experience and ability.
So why call it "Androgyny 2050"? Does all of your work have to do with the androgynous?
Well, fortunately no. That would get a bit repetitive and dull after a while - not to mention ambiguous.
However, my own personal artwork deals with themes of ambiguity amidst impermanent bodies. That is, if we can imagine a future with designer bodies into which we can download our consciousness, then the notion of "who" we are - at least the notion that links identity to a static body - must be reconsidered. I see androgyny functioning as a metaphor for this type of corporeal ambiguity - a future that I believe awaits us near the year 2050.
While this website features both my design work and my art work, my design is always tied to my client's needs, not my own.
